On Tuesday, 7th October 2025, the Kabarak University Business Students Association (KUBSA) achieved a remarkable milestone with the official launch of its revised Constitution. The ceremony, held at the Katiba Auditorium in the School of Law, marked a defining moment in advancing good governance, transparency, and student empowerment within the association.
The event commenced at 11:00 AM with an opening prayer by Joshua Munene, followed by the National Anthem led by Andrew Musyoka. The lively session was moderated by Ashley Ayuma and Jane Atieno, who welcomed guests and set a warm, celebratory tone for the occasion.
In her remarks, Ms. Lydiah Ngubi, the KUBSA Coordinator, commended the unity and dedication that characterized the entire review process. She lauded the efforts of the Constitution Review Committee (CRC) and the KUBSA Executive, urging members to uphold the values and principles enshrined in the reviewed Constitution.
The Vice President of KUBSA, Ludeki Emmanuel, delivered an inspiring address emphasizing the importance of constitutional reforms in strengthening student leadership, fostering accountability, and promoting inclusivity across the association.
Ms. Rosemary Karanja, Vice Chairperson of the Constitution Review Committee, narrated the journey of the review process, acknowledging the tireless efforts and collaboration of her team. She highlighted that the revised Constitution aligns with Kabarak University’s core values of Integrity, Excellence, and Servant Leadership.
During the presentation of the reviewed document, Kelvin Akiba, a representative of the CRC, outlined key amendments aimed at enhancing leadership efficiency and strengthening governance structures within KUBSA.
In his remarks, Mr. Luka Kiptui, Head of Department, praised the team for their commitment to transparent systems and urged students to actively uphold and implement the new constitutional framework.
Delivering the keynote address, Professor Patrick Kibati, Dean of the School of Business and Economics, congratulated KUBSA leadership for their foresight and initiative. He emphasized that the revised Constitution is more than just a document—it is a guiding framework that shapes the values, vision, and future of the association.
The highlight of the day was the cake-cutting ceremony, symbolizing unity, renewal, and progress. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Samuel Macharia, the Secretary General, and a closing prayer by Mary Mukono.
The atmosphere was filled with gratitude and joy as students celebrated a renewed sense of purpose and commitment to effective leadership.
