Nakuru City Campus and KABU TVET Institute Join Hands for a Day of Impactful Activities

On March 22, 2025, the Nakuru City Campus, in collaboration with KABU TVET Institute, hosted a dynamic and engaging event filled with meaningful activities. The event was spearheaded by Dr. Waiganjo, the Campus Director, and Dr. Mutai, the Executive Director of KABUTVET. Both students and staff members actively took part, making the day not only productive but also memorable.

The day began with a tree-planting exercise around the basketball court, reinforcing the shared commitment to environmental conservation. Trees play a vital role in sustaining life, and as Nelson Henderson wisely said, "The true meaning of life is to plant trees under whose shade you do not expect to sit."

Following the tree planting, peer counselors from both the Main Campus and Nakuru City Campus took the lead in weeding and litter collection within and beyond the campus compound. Their efforts ensured that the learning environment remained clean, organized, and conducive for all.

A case conferencing exercise was also held, where peer counselors gained crucial insights and skills to better support their fellow students. This session was instrumental in enhancing their ability to provide guidance and emotional support within the campus community.

The day would not have been complete without some friendly competition! Students and staff engaged in various indoor and outdoor games, fostering teamwork, camaraderie, and overall well-being. The spirit of sportsmanship was evident, adding excitement to an already fulfilling day.

As the sun set on a day filled with purpose and passion, one thing became clear—this was more than just an event. It was a testament to the power of collaboration, service, and shared responsibility. The seeds planted, both in the soil and in the hearts of participants, will continue to grow, strengthening the bonds of the community and setting the stage for even greater initiatives in the future.

A special appreciation goes to Dr. Waiganjo for his visionary leadership and to the University Management for their steadfast support. Their commitment to holistic student development ensures that such impactful moments are not just one-time occurrences, but a defining part of campus culture.
