On Friday, 28th February 2025, Enactus Kabarak successfully hosted an Online Training on Geothermal Usage, aimed at equipping students with knowledge on geothermal energy, its applications, and its role in sustainable development.
The session was led by Mr. John Mwiti, a consultant at Geothermal Development Company (GDC), who provided expert insights into geothermal technology, power generation, industrial applications, and its significance in Kenya’s renewable energy sector. The training was made possible through the support of faculty advisors Dr. Ezrah Ronoh and Mr. Shadrack Koech, alongside Boaz Omato, the President of Enactus Kabarak, who played a key role in organizing and facilitating the event.
Participants had an opportunity to learn about geothermal sustainability, energy innovation, and industry best practices. The session also featured an interactive Q&A segment, allowing students to engage directly with the expert. The training attracted a diverse audience of students eager to explore renewable energy solutions, and certificates of participation were awarded to attendees.
Following the success of this training, Enactus Kabarak is looking forward to a physical industrial visit to GDC to gain hands-on experience in geothermal energy production. The organization remains committed to empowering students through industry-focused training and innovation-driven learning opportunities.
Stay tuned for more upcoming events as we continue fostering entrepreneurial action and sustainability at Kabarak University.
