On Saturday, 19th October 2024, the Kabarak University Scouts Association, led by Boaz Masika Omato, conducted a successful outreach visit to Emmanuel Children’s Home in Ngata, Nakuru. The initiative, which ran from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, was aimed at fostering meaningful interactions between the Scouts and the children at the home through a series of fun, educational, and mentorship activities.
The day began with lively sports and games, including football and sack races, which brought excitement and joy to the children. This was followed by an inspiring mentorship session where the Scouts shared life stories and advice, encouraging the children to remain focused on their studies and dream big.
An arts and crafts session allowed the children to express their creativity, with guidance from the Scouts. Together, they created simple yet beautiful crafts, which the children proudly displayed. One of the most memorable moments of the day was the preparation and sharing of a communal meal, which strengthened the bond between the Scouts and the children.
The visit concluded with an educational workshop on life skills and environmental conservation, offering practical knowledge that the children can apply in their everyday lives. The Scouts emphasized the importance of self-discipline, hygiene, and caring for the environment, leaving a lasting impact on the children.
Boaz Masika Omato, Scout Captain, expressed gratitude to the university administration for their support in making the visit possible. He highlighted the importance of such outreach activities in building compassionate and socially responsible leaders within the Kabarak University community.
The Scouts look forward to organizing more such visits, continuing their commitment to serving the community and making a positive impact on society.
