Kabarak University Strengthens Innovation Ties with JHUB Africa

At Kabarak University, we recognize that transformative innovation flourishes through collaboration, knowledge exchange, and strategic partnerships. In pursuit of excellence and impactful entrepreneurship, our delegation, led by Dr. Phillip W. Nyawere, Ag. Director, Research, Innovation and Outreach, and Andrew K. Kipkebut, PhD, Coordinator, Innovation and Business Incubation, recently embarked on a benchmarking tour at JHUB Africa, the renowned innovation hub at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).

During the benchmarking session, our team engaged with leading innovators, including Dr. Lawrence Nderu, Mwangi Karanja PhD, George G. Gathoni, and Hilda Mumbi. The discussions revolved around building resilient startup ecosystems, aligning academic research with industry needs, and developing impactful entrepreneurship models that drive economic and social transformation.

A significant highlight of the visit was the participation of Prof. Dr. Olena Cherniavska, President of DiTELC Switzerland. Her global expertise on digital transformation and technology leadership enriched the discussions, offering valuable insights into positioning institutions as global hubs for research, technology, and entrepreneurship. This exchange reaffirmed the importance of international collaboration in scaling innovative solutions and enhancing the role of academia in driving technological advancements.

The benchmarking tour was not just an exchange of ideas—it was a strategic step toward strengthening Kenya’s innovation landscape. By forging strong partnerships with JHUB Africa and DiTELC Switzerland, Kabarak University continues to champion forward-thinking approaches to education, research, and entrepreneurship. These collaborations pave the way for university-led innovations that make a tangible impact in industries and communities alike.

As a center of academic excellence founded on Biblical Christian values, Kabarak University remains steadfast in its mission to provide holistic education that transforms lives. This engagement with JHUB Africa aligns with our vision to nurture problem solvers, innovators, and thought leaders ready to shape the future of technology and entrepreneurship.
