Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians Institute (KNDI)

The 9th Parliament, after 3 years of debate enacted the Nutritionists and Dieticians law in october 2007. The bill has been authored and sponsored by Hon. Julia Ojiambo - then a NARC nominated Member of Parliament on Parliamentary approval - the act was assented into law by the former President of the Republic of Kenya, His Excellency Hon. Mwai Kibaki on the 22nd October 2007, thus making Kenya the first country in the region of Africa to enact such an important law in the field of Nutrition & Dietetics. Subsequently, the then Minister for Medical Services - Hon. Prof. Anyang Nyong'o - gazetted the act on 30th October 2008.

Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council

The body is mandated to regulate the training, practice and licensing of medicine & dentistry and healthcare institutions that include private & mission hospitals, medical, dental centers & clinics, nursing and maternity homes and standalone funeral homes. Read more https://kmpdc.go.ke/

Kenya Pharmacy and Poisons Board

Tenwek Hospital

The history of Tenwek Hospital dates back to 1937 when WGM sent Trudy Shyrock to serve as the first trained nurse. Later on in 1959, Dr. Ernie Steury and his wife arrived to serve as the first missionary doctor and to assist Trudy with the medical functions. Read more: https://tenwekhosp.org/
