On Friday, 20th June 2025, Kabarak University warmly welcomed a delegation from Lukenya University for a benchmarking visit aimed at deepening their understanding of the administrative and technological frameworks that support academic excellence and institutional efficiency.
During the visit, the delegation held productive engagements with several core administrative units. At the Directorate of Kabarak University Online (KABUO), they explored the University's approach to online education delivery, including the design, management, and support structures that facilitate effective virtual learning. The team also visited the Registry Department, where they learned about the comprehensive systems in place for managing staff and student records, academic documentation, and examination processes.
At the Admissions Office, discussions focused on how Kabarak University handles student intakes—from application and selection to enrolment and orientation—emphasizing transparency, efficiency, and student-centered processes. The ICT Department showcased the University’s technological infrastructure, including its learning management systems, network capabilities, digital services, website management, and the strategic initiatives that contribute to Kabarak’s national and international rankings.
The Corporate Communications and Marketing Department provided insights into how the University builds and maintains its brand reputation, handles internal and external communications, and leverages digital platforms for engagement, visibility, and growth.
A major highlight of the visit was the exploration of Kabarak’s integration of digital learning through KABUO and the Open, Distance and e-Learning (ODEL) unit. The team gained valuable insights into how these departments work collaboratively to deliver flexible, high-quality academic programs that serve diverse learners.
The benchmarking visit concluded with a shared commitment to collaboration and continuous improvement in the higher education sector.
