The Center for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at Kabarak University was established in the year 2023 to undertake multidisciplinary research and innovation focused on the identification of problems and development of practical solutions in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.

Capacity Building

The Center holds data science and artificial intelligence bootcamps and hackathons on an annual basis. The bootcamps introduce fundamental concepts in data science and artificial intelligence to participants in hands on lab sessions. The hackathons provide an opportunity for participants to develop solutions for real world challenges using data science and artificial intelligence skills.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The Center, together with the University Innovation and Business incubation center runs the annual Data Innovation and Entrepreneurship Challenge. The aim of the challenge is to develop capacity among data scientists to establish profitable and sustainable enterprises that exploit data as a key resource. - https://www.kabarak.ac.ke/innovationchallenge

Dissemination

The Center has organized the annual Data Science and Artificial Intelligence since 2023. The conference provides a platform for researchers to disseminate research results in the form of papers and poster presentations. - https://kabarak.ac.ke/about-dsai

The center has also organized an annual workshop on African Artificial Intelligence since 2023.
