Kabarak University is proud to have an innovative team of students who will be representing the university in the Hult Prize competition in Rio, Brazil. This competition brings together the brightest minds from all over the world to solve some of the most pressing challenges faced by humanity.

The Kabarak University team Led by Mr. Wilson Balongo a lecturer in the School of Business is composed of creative and motivated students who are passionate about making a difference in the world. They are currently working on an innovative project called Glatext, which aims to tackle the issue of waste recycling by using discarded textiles to create tiles that can be used in kitchens and washrooms.

To prepare for the competition, the team visited Kitengela Anselm Hot Glass, a local recycling company in Kenya. The purpose of the visit was to learn more about recycling and to gain insights into the process of creating sustainable products from waste materials. During their visit, the team learned about the various techniques used to recycle glass, paper, and other materials.

The visit to the recycling company was a valuable experience for the Kabarak University team, as it allowed them to gain first-hand knowledge and insights into the recycling process. They were able to see the impact that recycling can have on the environment and the potential for creating innovative solutions from waste materials.

The team could not stop talking about the immense support they received from the Kabarak University management, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Henry K. Kiplangat. The management provided them with the necessary resources, guidance, and mentorship to develop their project and to prepare for the competition.

The Kabarak University team is now fully prepared to compete in the Hult Prize competition in Rio, Brazil, and they are confident that their innovative solution will have a significant impact on the environment and society.
