Kabarak University School of Education Humanities and Social Sciences holds its 12th annual international conference starting tomorrow the 25th of October 2022 preceded by a pre-conference training mounted by the Kenya Universities Quality Assurance Network (KuQAn) at the Kabarak University Auditorium.
Members of Kenya Universities Quality Assurance Network Executive, Prof. Maurice Oduor Okoth – The vice-chairman (KuQAn) Board, Prof. Raphael Nyonje-President (KuQAn), SR Dr. Jackline Alari- The Secretary-General (KUQAn) Executive, Ms. Jane Mugo- The Treasurer(KUQAn) Executive and our very own Registrar Dr. Antony Somba- The Vice-Chairman (KUQAn) Executive paid a courtesy call to the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Henry Kiplangat at his boardroom before heading to the auditorium.
The Vice-Chancellor officially opened the conference and commended the School of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences for coming up with a unique conference in collaboration with KuQAn on Quality Assurance in Higher Education.
In his speech, he outlined the themes that will run in the conference: 21st-Century Issues and Practices in Education, Quality Assurance in Institutions of Higher Learning in the 21st Century, Social Change and Adaptation in the COVID-19 period, Global Dynamics in Languages, Linguistics and Literature, Frontiers in Mental Health, Modern Theology and Politics in Africa. These issues are pertinent and are aligned to disciplines handled under the School of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences.
He thereafter made his presentation titled, The Significance of Quality Assurance and Education in Social Development before the virtual Keynote speech by Prof. Mike Kuria, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Commission for University Education (CUE).
