Exploring the Menengai Crater: Kabarak City Campus AYLF at it again!

The Great Rift Valley beckons, and the Africa Youth Leadership Forum (AYLF) at Kabarak City Campus is always ready to answer the call! On February 24th, a group of intrepid students, accompanied by their esteemed patron, Ms. Kombich, and supportive staff from Nakuru City Campus, embarked on an unforgettable exploration of the Menengai Crater, the largest volcanic caldera in Kenya and the second largest in Africa.

This wasn't just a hike; it was a transformative journey filled with discovery, camaraderie, and breathtaking vistas. Our adventure began with a 4-kilometer trek through the captivating Menengai Forest, culminating at the revered Menengai caves. Here, we witnessed the power of faith as individuals engaged in prayer rituals.

Fueled by the spirit of adventure, we continued our 8-kilometer ascent to the crater rim. The panoramic views that unfolded before us were nothing short of awe-inspiring. As the 15 members of the club (Winny, Howard, Nissy, Dubby, Tawfiq, Sam, Kovet, Abby, Glen, Adrienne, Ian, Timothy, Reuben, Oscar, and Emmanuel) scaled the crater together, the bond of friendship grew stronger with every step. Songs filled the air, and the shared experience created lasting memories captured through photos and delicious snacks shared amongst friends.

AYLF Kabarak City Campus is more than just a club; it's a family united by a passion for leadership development, fostering fun experiences, and building strong networks. We are grateful to the University Management for their unwavering support, which made this remarkable journey possible.

Stay tuned for our upcoming charity event on March 9th, 2024, as we collaborate with the Christian Union and Peer Counsellors at Nakuru Hill School for students with special needs. We believe in the power of giving back and making a positive impact on our community.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor and the University Management for their unwavering support throughout our exploration of the Menengai Crater. Their commitment to fostering student development and extracurricular activities is deeply appreciated, and it played a significant role in making this experience possible.
