The School of Medicine and Health Sciences at Kabarak University hosted a heartwarming oathing and pinning ceremony for its graduating students. The event was a celebration of excellence and elegance, with students dressed impeccably, each showcasing the best from their wardrobes. It was a moment to honor their transformative journey as they took their professional oaths in their respective disciplines: Family Medicine, Nursing, Clinical Medicine, Human Nutrition & Dietetics, Biomedical Sciences and Public Health. Highlights of the day included the nursing students’ symbolic candle-lighting tradition, where the graduating class passed the light to the incoming students, symbolizing the continuity of service and excellence.
The event was graced by members of the university management, with Acting Provost Rev. Justus Mutuku representing Vice-Chancellor Prof. Henry Kiplangat. In his inspiring speech, the Vice-Chancellor congratulated the graduates and reminded them to uphold the university's core values: Integrity, Professionalism, Innovativeness, Mindfulness of Others, and Patriotism. Guests also took the opportunity to enjoy a sumptuous meal and reflect on the collective achievements of both staff and students throughout their academic journey.
Special recognition was given to Prof. Pamela Kimetto, Dean of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, for her outstanding leadership. She was lauded for her recent promotion to associate professor, a significant milestone for the school. Prof. Kimetto hinted at exciting developments on the horizon, including the introduction of Ph.D. programs.
