About Usuli, the Blog of Jumuiya: East African Community Law Journal
Usuli is the blog of our traditional print publication: Jumuiya: East African Community Law Journal. Why Usuli? Usuli is a Swahili term meaning an explanation of phenomena. Thus, the objective of the blog is to facilitate engaging discussions and spark debates on emerging issues affecting regional integration law in East Africa.
At Usuli, we curate a vibrant intellectual space where dedicated scholars and professionals converge to offer insightful perspectives on the hottest topics in East African community and integration law. From the intricacies of trade and economic integration to the nuances of free movement of persons, immigration policies, customs and tax harmonisation, corporate and investment laws, environmental governance, human rights, peace and security cooperation, and the institutional framework of the East African Community (EAC), Usuli's contributors explore the challenges and opportunities that shape the region's integration efforts.
