Kabarak University Welcomes Katheka Kai Secondary School for a Pre-University Exposure Visit, Marked by a Historic Tree Planting Event

Kabarak University in an effort to inspire and encourage young minds to pursue higher education and broaden their horizons, extended a warm welcome to students from Maasai Girls School and Katheka Kai Secondary School from Machakos. This pre-university exposure visit was a remarkable opportunity for these students to gain insights into academic qualifications, receive valuable counseling, and participate in a meaningful tree-planting session at the prestigious institution.

The visit commenced with a motivating and informative session on academic qualifications by Dr. Anthony Somba, the Registrar Academics and Research at Kabarak University. Dr. Somba's address was not just about academic excellence but also the importance of holistic development. He emphasized the significance of a well-rounded education that nurtures both the mind and character. The students and the teachers were inspired by his words, leaving them with a clear vision of what they can achieve through dedication and hard work.

Following Dr. Somba's enlightening talk, the students were treated to a session of guidance and counseling led by Pastor Esther Kapsir, Kabarak University's dedicated counselor. Pastor Kapsir shared valuable insights on personal development, resilience, and the importance of seeking guidance when facing challenges. Her words of wisdom resonated deeply with the young minds, offering them the encouragement and support they need to navigate the complexities of life and education.

After these enlightening sessions, it was time for the students to explore the breathtaking campus of Kabarak University. Led by the esteemed Principal, Madam Margaret Owaa, they embarked on a journey to discover the university's lush greenery and state-of-the-art facilities. However, what took everyone by surprise was the symbolic tree-planting session that followed.

The students, symbolizing their connection to the university, brought five Thika palm trees for a historic mark at Kabarak University. These trees not only serve as a symbol of growth and sustainability but also represent the strong bond between the students and the institution. The students, eager and enthusiastic, took part in this significant tree-planting event.

Adding to the excitement of the moment, on behalf of the Vice-chancellor, Prof. Henry Kiplangat Dr. Anthony Somba, who had earlier shared his wisdom on academic qualifications, happily took part in the tree-planting session. His active involvement served as a testament to the university's commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders and scholars. Dr. Somba's participation not only inspired the students but also reinforced the idea that education goes beyond classrooms and textbooks.

The pre-university exposure visit to Kabarak University by students from Maasai Girls School and Katheka Kai Secondary School was a memorable and inspiring experience. It provided these young minds with valuable insights into academic qualifications, personal development, and the importance of environmental sustainability.

Kabarak University's commitment to holistic education and its willingness to open its doors to students from diverse backgrounds reflect its dedication to empowering the youth with knowledge and character. The tree planting session, in particular, will stand as a living testament to this fruitful collaboration between the students and the institution.
