EXTERNAL MOOTS

  1. At the Natural Justice Environmental Moot, held between 17 October 2024 and 19 October 2024, our team displayed exemplary research skills. In the research category, Miriam Rosasi was the best female researcher in the ‘Ethical and Legal Perspectives of Genetically Modified Organisms in Developing Nations’ category. On the other hand, George Njogu emerged overall best male researcher. Moreover, the incredible duo consisting of Owen Ndu’ngu and Peris Kapen received the award of the best respondents’ memorial. The rest of the team was comprised of Michael Muchomba and Hillarie Chepkwony.
  2. During the Strathmore Dispute Resolution Centre Annual Mediation Moot Competition, held from August 28, 2024, to August 30, 2024, our team triumphed, securing the championship. The winning team included Nick Jabura, Mirabel Rotich, Joseph Mungai, and Joshua Yuvinalis. Additionally, Ryan Karani, Lewis Ochaka, and Claudia Kangara reached the quarterfinals, marking an impressive performance.
  3. During the Global Rounds of the Nuremberg Moot Court Competition, held from July 24, 2024, to July 27, 2024, our team triumphed by emerging 3rd In addition, Elvis Soita was honored as the 2nd best overall speaker in the prestigious competition. The rest of the victorious team was comprised of Ruth Jebet and Monicah Loko.
  4. At the Christof Heyns Africa Human Rights Moot Court Competition, which took place from July 22 to July 27, 2024, our team advanced to the quarterfinals in a display of remarkable prowess. Moreover, individual team members received significant recognition: Levi Masinde was celebrated as the 3rd best oralist, and Joan Kiptui was recognized as the 4th best oralist.
  5. During the 2024 IBA-VIAC CDRC Vienna Mediation and Negotiation Competition, held between 3 July 2024 to 10 July 2024, our team solely represented the continent and triumphantly emerged as semi-finalists. The brilliant duo comprised of Adeline Chelagat Kiptoo and Joyce Kiema Mwende.
  6. Our team emerged champions at the African ADR ODR Mediation Tournament. The competition was held between 16 May 2024 and 18 May 2024. Moreover, our team’s mediator, Claudia Kangara was declared 2nd best in the continent. The winning client-advocate duo comprised of Levy Masinde and Dennis Onyango.
  7. At the Lady Oluoch Mediation Moot Court Competition, held from 6 May 2024 to 9 May 2024, our team emerged as the 2nd best in Kenya. Additionally, the team’s mediation plan was crowned the 3rd best. Notable recognitions include Disney Mandere as the 3rd best researcher, Joseph Mungai as the 2nd best mediator, and Nick Jabura as the 3rd best oralist. Mirabel Rotich completed our winning team.
  8. During the African Rounds of the John H Jackson World Trade Organisation Moot Court Competition, our team ranked 2nd in Africa. The competition was held from 18 March 2024 to 20 March 2024. The team thus qualified for the global rounds in Geneva, Switzerland. Additionally, we received recognition for the best Complainant’s submission. The team consisted of James Wanjiku, Petronila Rioba, Tracy Jerop, and Samwel Chumba.
  9. At the Climate Justice Moot Court Competition on 01 March 2024, we secured the 2nd best position in Kenya. Cephas Njoroge was acclaimed as the best oralist. Cliff Nyariki and Stacy Nick contributed to the success.
  10. At the National Rounds of the Jessup Moot Court Competition, held from 9 February 2024 to 10 February 2024, our team ranked 2nd in Kenya. Consequently, our team qualified for the global rounds in Washington DC. Risper Heaven, Faith Ndubai, Victoria Okeke, and Hiltruda Nyokabi represented our team.
  11. Another victory was witnessed at the International Committee of the Red Cross All Africa International Humanitarian Law Competition, held from 7 October to 8 October. Our team was crowned the 2nd best team in Kenya. The team consisted of Adeline Chelagat, Elsy Jemutai, and Joan Kiptui.
  12. Our team received an honorable mention at the Nelson Mandela World Human Rights Moot Court Competition, held from 16 July 2023 to 19 July 2023. The mention was a result of the team having the best-written submissions in Africa and the 7th best globally. Adeline Chelagat and Elsy Jemutai led our team.
  13. At the First Model African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child Moot Competition, our team emerged victorious, surpassing universities from across Kenya. It was held on 16 June 2023. Levy Masinde and Esther Blessing Nasimiyu led our successful team.
  14. Our team ranked 2nd best in Africa at The African Rounds of the John H Jackson World Trade Organisation Moot Court Competition. It was held from 18 March 2023 to 20 March 2023. Additionally, the team produced the best overall written submission in Africa. The team consisted of Faith Ndubai, Fidel Tekin, and Barack Onyango.
  15. Our team emerged as the best in Kenya at The Pan African Commercial International Chamber of Commerce Mediation Moot. It was held from 31 October 2022 to 2 November 2022. Marion Jeluget, Youngreen Mudeyi, Jeconea Okoth, Jesse Thaiya, Timothy Muyendi, and Adeline Chelagat formed our winning team.
  16. During the African Rounds of the Foreign Direct Investment International Arbitration Moot Court Competition, our team emerged as the 2nd best in Africa. It was held virtually from 19 August 2022 to 28 August 2022. Lewis Morara, Daniel Wachira, Esther Boyani, and Elsy Kemunto represented our team.
  17. At the Nelson Mandela World Human Rights Moot Court Competition, our team secured the 3rd position in the global preliminary rounds. Additionally, our team's memorial ranked 8th globally. The moot was held from 16 July 2022 to 24 July 2022. Daisy Biwott and Marion Jeluget comprised of our team.
  18. Our team's commendable performance at The International Committee of the Red Cross All Africa International Humanitarian Law Competition, earned us a spot in the semi-finals in Kenya. This was from 10 June 2022 to 13 June 2022. Kelvin Musyimi, Erick Ireri, and Harriet Wamaitha made up the team.
  19. Virtually transcending boundaries, our team emerged triumphant at The African Rounds of the John H Jackson World Trade Organisation Moot Court Competition. It was held from 24 March 2022 to 31 March 2022 where the team claimed the title of the best in Africa. Risper Heaven Anduru was hailed as the best oralist, with significant contributions from Faith Chepkoech, Sam Ndwiga, and Rebecca Andeso.
  20. The All-Kenya Moot Court Competition, held from 20 March to 25 March 2022, witnessed our team's outstanding performance. Jesse Thaiya and Faith Wanjala emerged as the best male and female oralists respectively. Faith Ndubai, Tabitha Moraa, George Gor, and Fidel Kibwana formed our successful team.
  21. Dominating the international stage, our team emerged victorious at The Dubai Ad Hoc Negotiation Competition. Held from 22 November 2021 to 26 November 2021, the team was the best in the globe. Daisy Biwott, Kevin Kipchirchir, and Samson Muchiri showcased exemplary negotiation skills.
  22. Our journey in The Foreign Direct Investment Moot Court Competition, held from 23 August 2021 to 4 November 2021, culminated in a commendable 4th position globally. Kevin Kipchirchir was recognised as the best oralist. Moreover, the collective efforts of Samson Muchiri, Daisy Biwott, Grace Jelimo, Onesmus Musungu, and Marion Joy showcased our team's excellence.
  23. At the African Human Rights Moot Court Competition, held in September 2021, our team secured the 3rd best position in Africa. Samson Muchiri and Daisy Biwott demonstrated exceptional dedication to advancing human rights through legal advocacy.
  24. At the Nelson Mandela World Moot Court Competition, our team's prowess earned us the 3rd position globally. Additionally, our team members were among the top 10 best oralists worldwide. The competition was held from 3 July 2021 to 16 July 2021. Samson Muchiri and Kevin Kipchirchir represented our team with distinction.
  25. The All-Kenya Moot Court Competition, held from 3 June 2021 to 5 June 2021, witnessed our team's dominance as the best in Kenya. Additionally, our team's submission as the Petitioner was recognized as the best. Sharon Amwama emerged as the best oralist. Marion Bii, Lewis Morara, and Ann Kariuki contributed significantly to the success.

INTERNAL MOOT

  1. In the realm of internal moots, the Okowa Inter-Firm Moot Court Competition held on 20 April 2024 showcased our prowess. Notably, the finals were presided over by Justice Hedwig Ongudi, who is the presiding judge of the Nakuru High Court. Under the representation of Cynthia Jeptoo and Owen Ndiragu, the firm of Ringera and Co emerged victorious.

EXTERNAL DEBATE

  1. At the Kenya Universities Debate Competition held between 19 September 2024 to 22 September 2024, our team displayed their prowess. Kelvin Musyimi and Peter Mudeyi, emerged first in the novice category. Further, Cephas Haron and Elizabeth Njenga were among the top ten orators. Jabez Oyaro & Michael Muchomba, formed the rest of the incredible team.
