Professor Henry Kiptiony Kiplangat, Vice-Chancellor of Kabarak University , underscored the critical importance of transformational leadership in reshaping higher education across Africa to address the continent’s distinctive challenges.

On her first official visit to Kabarak University, Mrs. Mercy Wanjau, Secretary to the Cabinet of the Republic of Kenya, was warmly received by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Henry Kiplangat. Appointed to her esteemed position in October 2022, Mrs. Wanjau is a respected commercial lawyer and a key figure in the Kenyan government. Her visit was marked by fruitful discussions on the role of higher education in shaping the next generation of leaders, particularly within the field of law.

With minds open and pens ready, Kabarak University students gathered once more to immerse themselves in the art of modern media storytelling, led by some of Africa Uncensored’s most influential voices. At the helm of this transformative experience was Mrs. Dorcas Kebenei, a dedicated lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication under the leadership of Dr. Ndonye, whose vision for the program is to shape students into fearless truth-seekers and innovative communicators. Renowned investigative journalist and Africa Uncensored co-founder John Allan Namu shared powerful insights into social media, media management, and the relentless evolution of new media, equipping students with tools to thrive in a fast-paced, information-driven world.

On Thursday, November 7, Kabarak University’s Department of Mass Communication hosted Africa Uncensored, a leading organization in media advocacy and Investigative Journalism, for an impactful mentorship session aimed at empowering students with essential skills for success in the media industry.

Dr. Simon Wachira, a recent graduate of Kabarak University's School of Pharmacy, is a testament to the institution's commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals. While pursuing his academic endeavors, Dr. Wachira cultivated a passion for fashion, transforming it into a thriving business venture.

A group of Kabarak University mass communication students joined media professionals, journalists, and advocates at Sarova Woodlands to mark the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists. The event, held under the theme "Safety of Journalists During Crisis Emergencies," spotlighted the pressing issues journalists face in conflict zones and crises. The students were accompanied by Mr. Benjamin Mbatia, a lecturer in the department, through a collaboration made possible by an active Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Kabarak University and the Media Council of Kenya (MCK).
