Partnerships & Collaborations

Kabarak University Partners with Indiana University for Stronger Communities

Kabarak University and Indiana University (USA) announced a new collaboration on Monday, April 29, 2024 during a meeting with Kabarak University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Henry Kiplangat. This partnership aims to empower communities and improve health outcomes in the region.

The focus? A unique, community-driven approach to tackling health challenges. Local health representatives from Nakuru, Kericho, and Baringo Counties contributed valuable insights during the discussions, shaping the approach to effective engagement and collaboration.

Building on existing strengths, this partnership will not simply replicate existing efforts. The goal is to empower communities to take the lead in developing tailored health improvement initiatives, with Kabarak University and Indiana University providing expert support in design and implementation.

To gain a deeper understanding of the specific needs of each community, the universities will embark on a joint visit to local health units. This first step paves the way for impactful plans – designed by the community, for the community!

Stay tuned for updates on this exciting partnership that's putting health in the hands of those who know best: the people themselves!
