The Avid Readers’ session of 10 March featured a reflective and imaginative piece authored by a member of the Forum, Billheart Braxtone, titled ‘The Day Christianity Was Banned in Africa.’ The reading emerged as a response to earlier discussions within the Forum that had largely critiqued the historical and contemporary impact of Christianity on the African continent. In contrast, the author sought to present a more introspective and ultimately affirmative perspective on the place and resilience of Christianity in Africa.

From: A Child of the Republic You Almost Built

Ndugu zetu, o foolish and gifted yet dangerously misguided founders. We write to you from a country you built. A country shaped by your hands, your speeches, your signatures and by the blood of those who believed in you without reservation. A people who sang for you, named their children after you and even stood in the rain for you. Independence is not your greatest victory but your first test and you are already failing it in ways that will echo for generations.

On March 10, 2026, we hosted an engaging Life Coaching Session aimed at empowering academic staff and students with practical strategies for personal development and professional success. Organized by the Office of the Dean, School of Education, Humanities, and Social Sciences (SEHSS), the event brought together the university community for an interactive learning experience focused on building resilience and leadership. The session was specifically designed to support both academic achievement and long-term career growth through meaningful discussion and actionable tools.

We officially marked the opening ceremony of Cultural Week 2026, ushering in a week-long celebration of heritage, diversity, and unity within the University community. The event, organized by the Kabarak University Students Organization (KUSO), is taking place from 9th to 14th March 2026 and brings together students and staff from diverse cultural backgrounds to celebrate their traditions, values, and talents.
